Professor Danica Purg is President of IEDC-Bled School of Management, Slovenia, one of the most innovative international management schools in CEE. She also leads CEEMAN, association of 225 management schools from 54 countries.

In 2010 she received the International Educator of the Year Award by the Academy of International Business for her outstanding achievements in international business education. In 2013 she became the Chair of the UN Global Compact PRME Steering Committee. In 2015 a special chapter about her leadership journey was published in the book “Women and Leadership Around the World”, authored by Dr. Susan Madsen. In April 2017 Academy of Management Review published an article “Why Art in Management Education? Questioning Meaning” that she co-authored with Dr. Ian Sutherland.

Prof. Purg also holds three Doctor Honoris Causa titles. Her special field of interest is looking for inspirations for managers from art and other professions. She authored and co-authored several books and numerous articles on leadership issues.

Women should be encouraged to develop their leadership potential through:

- education and capacity building, economic and policy support and through advocacy

- the importance of networking (women should also encourage each other and be better networkers).
